An introduction to #10DaysOfTemp by Senior HR & Office Consultant, Jacquelyn Mahoney.
I wanted to start this talking about temporary work in the current climate. Many people have been negatively impacted by COVID-19 and may not have previously considered temporary work, so this whole interim world may feel quite daunting!
Temporary work has always been a fantastic place to start when unemployed; it enables you to build skills, trial different environments, provides financial support when in-between jobs and can often lead to longer-term opportunities.
We have partnered with many companies who have on-boarded temporary workers both remotely and onsite, assignment dependant. Whether this be for defined project work in a marketing team, remote administration support, credit control or the very much needed extra support in the HR team.
Naturally, we have partnered with many candidates - some who previously would not have considered temporary work – and the results have been brilliant. We are seeing skilled professionals looking to diversify their skill sets, candidates build experience after leaving college or university, and also professional temps who are looking to build their long-term professional relationships. This, in turn, opens up more opportunities when the market returns to something we might class as a little more "normal".
Over the next 10 days we will be endeavouring to publish content relevant to different industries and sectors; information and blogs that could be of interest to both clients and candidates, so please keep your eyes open for our #10daysoftemp blogs.
