Ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail and admin skills. Procurement experience in a production environment and practical experience of using problem solving. Knowledge of MRP/ERP, ideally including knowledge of progress is also desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Control of certain key accounts including supplier selection, ordering and performance review
  • Support sub contract manager in ensure smooth running of all subcontract operations including order placement, cost control, and supplier performance evaluations
  • Action all purchasing requisitions, raising queries directly and reporting to the Procurement Manager on any issues
  • Monitor and progress orders, liaising with suppliers and communicating with the Production Department to ensure all parties are aware and updated
  • Ensure the smooth operation of the progress system, keeping all records up to date and producing reports as required
  • Take responsibility on a day-to-day basis for the ordering or office stationery and supplies and anything identified as health and safety requirements and advised by the Quality & Improvement teams (eg. footwear, eyewear and uniforms)
  • Liaise with all Company Departments as required, including Quality & Improvement, Resources and Production
  • Communicate with Stores on a daily basis to ensure they are providing a good service across the organisation
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations and Company policies, procedures and processes at all times, highlighting any issues of non-compliance
  • Assist the Procurement Manager with any other related duties, as required
  • Undertake other duties commensurate with the role, as instructed and/or notified from time to time
  • Be aware of, contribute to and follow standards and accreditations the Company accreditations may acquire or aspire to, including ISO9000 & AS9100
