Are you a Design & Development Engineer who has an in-depth knowledge of IC engines and components? Do you want to work for a world-renowned manufacturer developing there products that they sell gobally?
Our client who are leading manufacturer of diesel and natural gas engines are searching for a Mechanical Design Engineer on a 12 month contract. You have the opportunity to join the Component Engineering team who are at the forefront of mechanical design and development of engines up to 7 litres used in a different range of machine platforms intended to meet the latest emissions legislations.
The day to day duties of the Design Engineer include:
* Design and packaging of fuel systems, FEAD, core, aftertreatment and other engine systems.
* Working directly with the engine architect to identify space claims.
* Working with suppliers to develop hardware and mounting solutions.
* Conducting FMEA on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs.
* Working with the validation team to plan and execute validation tests.
Qualifications and experience required for this role should include, a strong technical design background, a good understanding of Manufacturing principles & processes. Design experience of Pro-Engineer CREO is required although other CAD package experience will be required if accompanied by relevant experience.
The company are looking to pay £25 per hour PAYE or up to £35 per hour Umbrella contractor.
