This is a brand-new role for an Optics Engineer. You could be relatively early on in your role, or alternatively, someone looking for some leadership; the great thing about this Cambridge based company is that they are happy to consider candidates at either end of the spectrum!
It's an opportunity to join an expanding engineering team, working at the cutting edge of science & technology. Industry experience developing products containing precision optical and photonic components is important. We're looking for you to share your technical skills and capabilities with the team.
About You:
- A good degree in a relevant technical field
- Postgrad research experience in the photonics/optics domain is preferred
- Industry experience of product development incorporating precision optics, from lab proof of concept and specification through to manufacturing introduction
- Good familiarity with optical and photonic components and test equipment
- Experience with optical modelling and simulation
- Experience with the mechanical and thermal aspects of precision optics design
- Appreciation of design for manufacturing considerations for optical products
- Specification and development of laboratory and manufacturing test setups for optical/photonic devices and modules
- Strong analysis and interpretation skills
