"The driving force behind our innovation and impact."
"Bright, energetic and dedicated."
"They bring tremendous value to our business every day."
If a company describes its employees like this, you'd be forgiven for dropping everything to jump at the opportunity to go and work for them. And, quite conveniently, a leading biotech organisation who is at the forefront of genomic discoveries - that does exactly that - (and just so happens to be already global and yet still rapidly expanding!), is looking for a DevOps Tooling Engineer to join their South Cambridgeshire based team.
We say South Cambridge, but you'll only need to be in the office 1-2 days per week and, if you fancy it, you'll have the opportunity to travel to San Diego once or twice a year.
This will be a role which offers autonomy and flexibility, with a mix of BAU and project-based work, to include:
- Designing, implementing, supporting, and providing guidance on the efficient use and application of DevOps tools for various projects
- Working as the application administrator for several tool chains
- Effectively designing, coding, building, and managing elastic build environments - and dynamic project requirements - applying the DevOps methodologies to all operational aspects of maintaining these tools
To be successful in this role, we believe that you'll need to be a natural communicator and someone who is happy to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to build good internal relationships with those around you. In terms of technical expertise, we'll really need you to already have:
- GitHub Enterprise
- Artifactory Enterprise+
- CI/CD pipelines using TeamCity (CI/CD) preferably
- Docker/Kubernetes workload/orchestration management preferably using Rancher 2.x
- Code scanning tools (e.g., X-Ray, WhiteSource)
- Atlassian tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello, etc.)
And, as you'd expect from a company who values its employees so highly, you'll be rewarded for your hard work and expertise with an extensive benefits package:
- 10% company performance related bonus
- Stock from day one
- 10% employee pension, private medical and 4x life insurance
- An onsite gym that includes a sauna, and tennis and squash courts - subsidised down to £8 a month
- An additional £500 a year on top of your salary (just because!)
- Whole company closure for a week in July and a week at Christmas
- £250 worth of flexible benefits which can be put towards dental, eye care or other medical initiatives
