Website Manager
Cambridge/Hybrid
£43,000

It could be argued that digital marketing - and online communication in general - is the most important aspect of any organisation's communications strategy in the current digital age that we find ourselves in. But, whilst most organisations focus heavily on social media platforms, many are forgetting the importance of a website for building credibility, community and a focal point for sourcing information about a particular establishment.

So why is a company website so important?

According to surveys, 75% of people admit to making judgements on a company's credibility based their website's design, and a massive 88% are less likely to return to a website after a poor experience. This is no more concerning than for a non-profit organisation whose website is not just important for building credibility and brand awareness, but directly responsible for incoming donations to support its fundraising efforts.

We're assisting a global not-for-profit organisation based in central Cambridge with its search for a new Website Manager - to ensure that they don't become a statistic on a "Reasons Why Your Organisation Needs a Website" blog post. This is a full-time, permanent role offering hybrid working (a mixture of remote and 2 days per week in some stunning historic offices), a fantastic benefits package and a salary of up to £43,000 for the right candidate.

Reporting directly to the Head of Communications, as an experienced Website Manager you'll be responsible for:

  • Website management: Overseeing of the day-to-day running of the site, to include development of the website's fundraising capabilities, ensuring that it integrates with the CRM and all donation gateways
  • Increasing website reach for maximising fundraising capabilities: Working with key stakeholders within the organisation to develop strategies to maximise inbound traffic and optimise conversion, including creating engaging supporter journeys, inspiring content and ensuring SEO optimisation
  • Oversee the functionality of the website: Using user research and insights to that the website is delivering the desired user experience, and is secure, adheres to usability, accessibility and security best practice, performing according to the agreed website goals
  • Team management: Manage digital team members through objective and goal setting, continuous performance management, annual appraisal, training provision (where budgets permit) and personal development planning, as well as liaising with external consultants where necessary

In order to feel successful and fulfilled within this role - and in addition to having extensive previous experience managing a website with an integrated CRM and payment gateways - we'd love to see on your CV that you have specific up to date knowledge on SEO best practice and use of the Google suite (Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Google Page Insights).
