The Brief

Following a recent restructure within their Controls and Compliance team, Silver Spoon required two pivotal new roles: a Financial Accountant and a Regulatory Reporting Manager. These roles were newly created, and no prior recruitment for them had been conducted, allowing for flexibility in candidate profiles. Ensuring that candidates would align with the company’s values and culture was a top priority.

The Reporting Manager role required a qualified accountant with experience in data integration, financial control, and non-financial reporting, while the Financial Accountant role was an excellent step- up opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking for career growth. Both roles offered robust training and development pathways, enabling candidates to gain valuable experience and advance within the organisation.

The Process

Our consultant, Megan, took a comprehensive approach to understanding Silver Spoon’s requirements. She met in person with key stakeholders, Leah and Ryan, to clarify role expectations and team dynamics. A tailored market search strategy was developed, including:

Broad Candidate Screening: Using a customised screening process, Megan ensured only the most suitable profiles were considered.

LinkedIn Outreach: A targeted LinkedIn search was conducted to reach a wider pool of passive candidates who might not be actively looking but would be a strong match.

Regular Feedback Sessions: Megan coordinated regular check-ins with Ryan to adjust the search approach based on evolving feedback, keeping the recruitment process aligned and responsive to any challenges.

Networking and Referrals: Leveraging Megan’s established industry contacts, she reached out for referrals, widening the candidate pool with trusted recommendations.
