The ONE Group were recently invited to visit this welcoming organisation based in rural south Cambridgeshire. We were highly impressed by their facilities and warm and friendly culture.

The company has won several awards for their contributions to cutting-edge medical device technology, supporting both start-ups and large pharma companies. They're situated close to the M11 with easy access by road and rail between both Cambridge and London.

They currently have positions available for Applied Science Consultants / Senior Consultants to strengthen and develop their client offerings, playing a role in business development opportunities.

The Role:

  • Provide technical expertise and support the development of medical devices in diagnostics, surgery and drug delivery
  • More senior candidates will provide team leadership
  • Help to promote the company's capabilities both internally and externally through content writing (e.g., blogs, articles, knowledge sharing presentations) and by advising on internal capability development initiatives, attendance at conferences and events and advising on internal development initiatives
  • Support commercial teams and demonstrate capabilities to clients, identifying sales opportunities

About You:

  • Good degree, 2:1 or above in Science or Engineering or equivalent experience
  • Advanced studies in a relevant or related area, i.e. Physics
  • Experience in an R&D environment
  • Experience solving complex applied science problems
  • Experience of coding, i.e. Python
  • Analytical mindset and a strong background in data science

More senior candidates may be able to provide:

  • Robust theoretical and practical experience, specifically one or more of: optics, electrochemical sensors, magnetics, acoustics, biochemistry, microfluidics, data science.
  • Strong track record leading and supporting stakeholders throughout the project development cycle
  • Advanced studies in applied science (Masters or PhD)
  • Experience of working within an ISO13485 environment or similar
  • ISO14971 familiarity
  • Medical device regulatory experience (EU or FDA)
