The ONE Group work very closely with this company and have witnessed their huge growth over the last few years. We're proud to be a huge contributor to their recruitment efforts and are now helping them find a Biosensor Product Development Lead.

This is a lead role in the biosensor development project, where you will take research and translate it to a product design. This will involve working closely with the Research team and beyond to deliver projects within timescales and targets.

The Role:

  • Develop graphene biosensors from proof-of-concept stage towards reliable market-ready products
  • Find and develop novel manufacturing techniques to enable the volume manufacture of graphene based IVDs
  • Build and manage a team of engineers and scientists to deliver multiple generations of IVD products
  • Explore novel microfluidic, multiplexing and packaging solutions to ensure product scalability, performance and reliability
  • Ensure products and activities meet regulatory compliance in target markets and advise on issues within this field
  • Identify and work with external partners to accelerate the development of the biosensor prototypes towards product specification
  • Support the biosensor research team to build and evaluate novel device structures and testing methods suitable for graphene biosensors
  • Liaise with the commercial team to ensure products meet specifications, market requirements and regulatory compliance
  • Compile updates for internal project reviews
  • Share research through publications and external events

About You:

  • Degree in a relevant subject
  • Previous experience of taking a leadership position in the development of an IVD device from outline concepts to market launches
  • Mechanical/Electronic understanding
  • Experience of medical regulatory compliance, eg ISO13485
  • Experience managing a multidisciplinary project combining electronics, mechanical hardware, process development and software - this role is not just about the scientific aspect

Advantageous (but not essential):

  • Experience working with contract research organisations and clinical labs
  • Clinical studies and ethics approval
  • Imaging and analysis of biomolecular systems
  • Bio microelectromechanical systems (bio-MEMS)
  • Development of ELISA or other immunoassays
  • Microfluidic devices
  • Knowledge of biomedical semiconductor applications
