My client is a privately-owned company who operates across the globe, with a UK centre that excels in the full-scale production of products. We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Buyer to join the Purchasing team. Ideally, we seek an individual ideally with a solid background in manufacturing and a proficient understanding of SAP. As a Buyer, your responsibilities will cover all non-production and minor production purchasing activities, making a significant impact in their lively office environment.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Scout for new suppliers
  • Manage the ordering of non-production items
  • Collaborate effectively with the Senior Buyer and Purchasing Manager
  • Execute purchasing administrative duties
  • Conduct benchmarking of suppliers
  • Generate Purchase Orders through the SAP system
  • Coordinate with suppliers to expedite Purchase Orders
  • Align Purchase Orders with current demand through effective scheduling
  • Record goods received onto SAP
  • Maintain optimal stock levels for non-stock items
  • Undertake additional tasks as deemed appropriate

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Ideally prior experience in purchasing/buying within the manufacturing industry
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - particularly Excel and Word
  • Methodical approach to ensure adherence to procurement procedures
  • Well-organised and focused
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Genuine passion and enthusiasm for your field
  • Ability to thrive under pressure, prioritise tasks, and handle multitasking
  • Self-motivated and ambitious

Remuneration & Benefits:

  • Competitive salary commensurate with experience
  • Full-time position with a standard 40-hour workweek, Monday to Friday, with a half-hour lunch break (some flexibility possible)
