The One Group are working with an Engine Manufacturer in Darlington who are seeking a Test Engineer to join the team on a 6-month contract to test aftertreatment systems on dynos.
Due to an increase in workload the client are looking to boost there workforce for 6 months with the opportunity for it to be extended If there was an apettite.
The day to day duties of the Test Engineer include:
- Interpret test requests for diesel engine and aftertreatment development testing in engine dynamometer test cells, write test instructions, prepare necessary test scripts and logging files.
- Ensure engine, aftertreatment and associated hardware is available and set-up correctly for each test.
- Analyse test data for test quality and identify issues with the test related to either equipment or software.
- Troubleshoot test cell issues including hardware, test sequence and scripting, instructions and test procedures and provide both short- and long-term solutions.
Skills and experience required for the Test Engineer include:
- Previous experience in AVL dynamometer testing environment preferred
- Knowledge of Diesel engine and/or Aftertreatment architecture an advantage but not essential
- Methodical and data-based approach to problem solving, Strong team working skills and communication skills.
The role would fall inside IR35 so the company are looking at contractors to go PAYE or via an umbrella company and are looking to pay between £17-£20 per hour.
