The company are a global automotive manufacturing company. They are internationally renowned for their quality and reliability. As part of the Research & Development Department you will carry out a variety of testing functions to support new engine programs to tight deadlines.
The role:
Working in a small team of 10 within a much larger organisation as an Engine Test Technician, you will learn to test various prototype components across the engine range.
Day to day activities will include:
- Follow documented standard work procedures/instructions to perform safe and defect free installations of engines into test cells along with the connection of test measurement and associated equipment and services that allow for high quality data collection.
- Collaborative working with an assigned NVH engineer to install instrumentation for gathering vibration and noise data with industry standard equipment.
- Liaise and communicate with engineers responsible for engine test programs.
- Diagnose and fix a range of faults on both engines and test cell equipment.
- Support value stream improvements projects.
- Keep the work area clean, tidy, and safe in line with 5S and total preventative maintenance (TPM).
- Undertake training and further learning as required.
What is required:
- Working knowledge of engines.
- Solid mechanical knowledge.
- Desire to learn a testing role including use of test beds etc.
Monday - Thursday 08:00 - 16:30, Friday 08:00 - 13:00
