Head of Communications
Cambridge United Football Club
£30,000 - £35,000

The One Group are delighted to be partnering with Cambridge United Football Club who are looking to appoint a Head of Communications.

Have you based your career on being the creative spark across all types of communication, creating impactful and engaging content for your target audience? From creating fascinating stories on the company's website, to producing an email marketing campaign to bolster customer engagement and sales; you were the one the company could rely on to present the business from a visual perspective. Are you also known for your relationship building ability, including forming and maintaining trusted partnerships with stakeholders of varying levels including CEO's, fellow employees and this case, press/broadcasters?

We're on the lookout for an experienced Communications professional to join a firmly established Football League team at an incredibly exciting time in the club's history. Should you be keen on joining a rapidly progressing club that can offer the right candidate, a hugely diverse role with job satisfaction like no other, then you've arrived at the right place.

You'll be playing a critical role in the clubs branding, content and reputation across multiple platforms and collateral, meaning the role will offer lots of variation and diversity.

Due to the nature of the industry, understanding and communicating on a relatable level will be paramount to success. You will be involved with a variety of people, teams and functions within the club, looking at the various ways that you can impact different creative material.

Reporting directly into the CEO, typical responsibilities will range from;

* Design and create engaging content while considering the audience, from club supporters to potential sponsors. This includes club website, social media channels and email marketing.
* Create printed production including the club programme, a vital form of interaction with supporters, from both a content and imagery perspective.
* Work with different areas of the business in the production of targeted articles and materials including commercial, ticketing, hospitality and retail.
* Work very closely with the club's supporters on engagement, ensuring the relationship between the two continues to flourish communication lines are clear.
* Manage relationships with local and national press on all relations including interviews, match day fulfilment and appropriate accreditation.
* Head up a matchday media team to ensure video content, live photography and interviews/presenting runs smoothly and to a strict timescale.

The Right Person;

This role requires the successful individual to be confident and skilled in both visual design and content creation. Therefore, extensive experience in a communications role is essential. Experience or a very strong interest in football/sport would also be highly beneficial.

Creative software such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or the equivalent is an integrable part of the role so you will need to show strong examples of work in these areas as well as CMS such as WordPress.

With multiple projects running at the same time, you'll be highly organised and enjoy working in a collaborative environment. You'll be joining an ambitious team who work closely together and are passionate about the club's success, therefore personality is just as important as experience and skill set.

Football is an industry like no other with matches coming think and fast, therefore working unsociable hours at times is to be expected.

This is an incredibly exciting opportunity for a unique individual. If you have read this and are enthused about being such an integral cog in a highly ambitious and innovative wheel, then get in touch!
