Onsite Engineer (L3) - Reading

Salary: £45,000
Contract:
12-Month FTC
Location:
Reading, Berkshire (Onsite, Monday to Friday)
Clearance: Must hold active
UK SC Clearance

The Role

We're looking for an Onsite Engineer (L3) to be the go-to technical support at our client's Reading site. This is a hands-on role where you'll be working directly with people every day, solving problems, keeping things running smoothly, and making sure the tech just works.

From fixing end-user devices and supporting meeting room kit, to looking after the WiFi and keeping records up to date, you'll be the person everyone turns to when they need help onsite. It's varied, fast-paced, and no two days are the same.

What You'll Be Doing as an Onsite Engineer

  • Supporting a mix of hardware, software, and network systems onsite
  • Troubleshooting meeting room hardware, end-user devices, and network/WiFi issues
  • Carrying out SmartHands tasks like installs and maintenance
  • Managing Meraki MAC address whitelisting and WiFi password changes
  • Running quick checks and reports through the Meraki dashboard and firewall logs
  • Keeping asset records accurate and up to date
  • Doing proactive site checks to spot issues before they become problems
  • Helping end-users with setup and day-to-day queries
  • Joining monthly meetings to talk through what's working well - and what could be better

About You

  • You've worked in 2nd line or onsite support before and enjoy being hands-on
  • Confident troubleshooting across hardware, software, and networks
  • Experience with Meraki WiFi / network tools is a big plus
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders and end-users, you can explain technical issues in a simple way
  • You're proactive and organised, not just reactive
  • You must hold active UK Security Clearance (SC)

Why This Role?

  • You'll be the key onsite engineer people rely on
  • The work is varied (you won't be stuck doing the same thing every day)
  • A solid 12-month contract at £45,000 gives you stability
  • Standard hours (Monday-Friday, 9-5:30) with everything onsite in Reading

If this sounds like you, then hit apply today, we'd love to hear from you and one of our team will be in touch with you to discuss the opportunity in more detail.
