We are looking for a motivated and organised individual who is seeking a challenging and rewarding opportunity as a Planning Manager.

This innovative company based in St. Ives, Cambridgeshire recognises that its staff are what continues to drive the business forwards, which is why they offer a competitive salary, along with a fantastic benefits package which includes private medical insurance and free use of the on-site and recently refurbished wellness zone, just to name a few.

This role will be on a 12-18-month contract basis and will be reporting directly into the Supply Chain Senior Manager. You will be leading a team of experienced planners whilst managing the supply and control of inventory of all products, as well as ensuring that lead times are achieved in a timely manner.

In this role, your main goal will be managing the end-to-end demand planning process whilst ensuring all inventory is available as and when required by the customers. You will be the lead in the sales and operations processes as well as owning the day-to-day stock allocation across the EMEA sales regions, making decisions on re-allocations where needed. Along with this, you will be making and communicating discretionary buying decisions whilst liaising with 3rd party suppliers and owning the reporting of inventory.
Timely decision making with the Sales and Product leads across the EMEA is essential, as well as working closely with the Finance and IT teams to ensure a strong internal control environment. As well as the above, you will be managing the development of direct reports, including health and safety, competency and performance. Compliance within the Logistics functions and control of Freight costs is essential to ensure the business is operating efficiently and minimising in-bound logistics cost.

The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable track record and understanding of supply chain, demand forecasting and sales & operations planning in a manufacturing sector whilst possessing strong commercial acumen and understanding of systems. You must be able to multi-task whilst coping with conflicting objectives and priorities along with having a proven experience of successful budget holding responsibilities.
We are looking for someone who enjoys leading a team and has excellent communication skills, with the ability to forge strong relationships with both your team and other stakeholders within the business. Ideally this position needs an individual who has experience of markets outside of the UK.
