A growing company based in central Hertfordshire are looking for an experienced and competent Senior Procurement Manager to join their company.

You will be someone who has experience in wholesale and GDP compliance and can demonstrate good supplier relationship management skills.

This is a lovely role for someone that maybe wants to work closer to home, who enjoys a challenge to reduce costs, is commercial and happy to work to strict compliance standards.

Success in this role is measured by

  • Reducing procurement costs by 10% within 12 months through effective supplier negotiations.
  • Maintaining 100% GDP compliant documentation for all sourced products.
  • Enhancing supplier performance tracking and snowboarding new reliable suppliers.
  • Supporting stock availability for new markets and or product lines.

You will be expected to

  • Develop and execute end to end procurement strategies focusing on branded, generic and OTC products.
  • Lead strategic sourcing and category management initiatives aligned with the company goals.
  • Maintain and monitor approved PSLs in line with MHRA and GDP guidelines.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and risk assessments.
  • Identify, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality and cost efficiency.
  • Manage procurement planning in collaboration with the warehouse ensuring optimal stock levels.
  • Prevent overstocking and stock outs through regular forecasting and demand analysis
  • Ensure all activities meet the required standards
  • Work closely with the Operations and Compliance teams to prepare regulatory inspections.
  • Liaise with finance, sales, warehouse and operations to align procurement to overall business strategy.
  • Collaborate on new product introductions, pricing strategies and stock planning.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records in the company database.
  • Prepare monthly procurement reports and insights.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained at all times, promoting a safe and effective work environment.
  • Adhoc duties as required by management

Who you will be

  • You will be someone who has a degree in supply chain management, business administration, pharmaceutical or similar degree.
  • Have a good understanding of GDP guidelines, pharma supply chains, MHRA regulations and other relevant regulatory frameworks.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing procurement strategies, cost saving initiatives and supplier performance management within the pharmaceutical sector.
  • Experience in inventory forecasting, demand planning and stock risk mitigation aligned with regulatory and commercial requirements.
  • Proven experience with data analysis tools to support decision making alongside a good level of Excel
