Overview:
A well-respected machinery distributor is looking for a Service Manager to join their team at their site near Sheffield Park. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in service or aftersales management who is confident leading a team, driving performance, and delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of mobile engineers and internal technicians
- Ensure all maintenance and service contracts are delivered on time and to standard
- Drive productivity, efficiency, and high performance across the service department
- Take ownership of workshop operations, including budgets and cost control
- Identify new business opportunities to support the growth of the service offering
- Deliver strong technical support to customers, including warranty and repair queries
- Work closely with apprentices and team members to promote ongoing development and training
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and team members are adequately trained
- Escalate complex technical issues to manufacturers or internal technical teams
- Monitor vehicle servicing schedules and maintain a professional image across the department
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in a service or aftersales management role
- Technical knowledge of engines, hydraulics, and electrics
- A hands-on leader who can motivate a team and maintain high standards
- Strong customer service focus with the ability to resolve issues effectively
- Good commercial awareness and the ability to identify areas for growth and improvement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Well organised, adaptable, and confident managing multiple responsibilities
