You will have heard of this Cambridge based GIANT of a company and The ONE Group are proud to be supporting them with recruitment. They are looking for a Contract FPGA Verification Engineer for around 6 months, initially. Based at their Cambridge HQ (remote options also), you'll join the FPGA prototyping team in adapting SoC verifications to validate FPGA modifications and generate boot code for their FPGA hardware. Working in a simulation environment utilising remote compute services, you will also interface directly with hardware in a lab environment. This is a multi-site project and you'll be expected to work with engineers in remote locations.

The Role:

  • Develop advanced FPGA prototypes with techniques such as gated clock conversion and synthesizable models to build accurate representations of real-world systems
  • Design and releasing the latest products in FPGA image, enabling IP validation as well as pre-silicon software and ecosystem development, reducing time to market

The Essentials:

  • Experience with implementation of ASIC/SoC RTL in FPGA
  • Superior knowledge and expertise in debugging complex designs
  • Working knowledge of AMBA bus standards
  • Detailed knowledge and experience of RTL Verification utilising SystemVerilog
  • Experience working with SV UVM testbenches, using UVM Verification IPs (VIP) and writing System Verilog Assertions (SVA)
  • Programming languages such as: assembly language (ideally Arm assembler), higher-level (e.g. C), object-orientated (e.g. C++)
  • Use of a UNIX environment and shell programming/scripting in e.g. Makefile, Python, Tcl, Ruby
  • Experience of using data formats such as YAML and JSON
  • Embedded software knowledge to test and debug designs
  • Simulation environments: QuestaSim and VCS/Verdi
  • Excellent written and spoken English; can write coherent documentation
  • Working with version control and project management/bug tracking systems such as SVN/Git and Jira
  • Xilinx FPGA technology
  • Synopsys tool flows
