Working with clients to establish their needs, you will come up with top quality analogue and digital circuit designs and see these projects through from feasibility right through to manufacture. You'll also support the integration and verification at both hardware and system level.

What's essential is that you bring with you a great academic background and an excellent understanding of electronic engineering fundamentals. But also, you truly enjoy what you do and have a fantastic track record of seeing your designs through to completion and keeping your clients happy.

A few other things that you might have experience and skills in (although not essential) are…

* Design for medical devices
* High speed digital design (for example signal integrity, VHDL)
* Implementing high performance analogue discrete circuits
* Designing products for low power
* Designing products for low cost, high volume manufacturing
* Simulation using Spice as well as RF simulators. e.g. HFSS or Comsol
* Developing embedded C applications for microprocessor platforms
