The Role:
- Hands-on technical lead/manager for a small team
- Project manage integrated photonic development projects, including liaising with external partners and suppliers and supporting NPI activities
- Design, simulate and validate PICs for quantum computing/networking applications
- Advise on and support relevant clean room process/fabrication activities
About you:
- PhD with a significant focus on integrated photonics
- Significant experience working on and leading the development of PICs, ideally for quantum applications
- Significant experience with design, simulation, final layout and characterisation of photonic devices and ICs
- Familiarity with PIC foundry PDKs, and optimisation of circuit elements to support operation at non-standard wavelengths
- Experience with high-efficiency fibre-to-chip coupling techniques
- Some, or all of the following experience:
- Implementing, interfacing and characterising high-speed, low-loss electro-optical switching structures in PICs
- PIC fabrication techniques and process optimisation
- Lithium Niobate photonic integrated circuits
- Single photon detection devices
