Job Title: Interim Finance Manager

Location: Peterborough

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an Interim Finance Manager with our esteemed client in Peterborough. This role has emerged due to the temporary secondment of the current Finance Manager onto a project for a minimum period of 6 months. Joining a reputable organisation, the Interim Finance Manager will play a pivotal role within a small finance team, collaborating closely with two other Finance Managers. This position demands a strong technical skill set and a proactive, hands-on approach.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversight and accountability for all external reporting.
  2. Management and delivery of external audit processes.
  3. Ensuring accurate preparation of financial statements compliant with IFRS, FRS101, and FRS102 (where applicable), with robust governance and review mechanisms in place.
  4. Providing authoritative technical accounting opinions and formal position papers.
  5. Ensuring adherence to formal accounting policies.
  6. Managing general ledger activities related to intercompany transactions, and complex internal transactions.
  7. Keeping up to date with changes and interpretations in accounting standards and GAAP best practices within the industry.
  8. Reporting and managing finance risks effectively.
  9. Validation of first-line internal controls and maintenance of the finance risk register.
  10. Supporting business partnering efforts on Commercial Risk, including managing debt exposures and conducting financial due diligence.

Requirements:

  1. Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 4 years experience in a similar role.
  2. Expertise in IFRS, FRS 101, and FRS 102.
  3. Excellent technical knowledge and ability to apply accounting principles effectively.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
  6. Proven track record of managing external reporting and audit processes.
  7. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
  8. Proactive approach to identifying and addressing financial risks and challenges.
  9. Adaptability to changing environments and priorities.
  10. Commitment to upholding high standards of integrity and professionalism.
