THE ROLE:

Liaising with external support organisations to manage all aspects of the businesses IT and System solutions, including security and data integrity.

To include:

  • Liaising with external support organisations as necessary to manage the network and server infrastructure of the business
  • Liaising with external support organisations as necessary to manage the systems and software infrastructure of the business
  • Liaising with external support organisations to evaluate risk and manage the backup and recovery solutions for the business
  • Serving as the first point of contact for IT support within the organisation
  • Provide technical guidance and advice to develop and align IT and systems with current and future business requirements and goals
  • Ensuring the security of the network and hardware operated by the business
  • Ensuring the security of the systems and data held by the business by working together with the company's security support organisations
  • Managing the relationships and requirements of IT and system related support organisations
  • Preparing the IT and Systems Budget and forecasts for approval and working within approved budgets to deliver cost efficiencies as identified

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, Install, test, configure and maintain software and hardware utilised by the business
    • Ensure system configuration changes are performed in a controlled manner
    • Configure Radio Data Terminals (RDT), and other hardware devices
  • Maintain registers of the business hardware and software
  • Develop and maintain ERP system configuration and performance settings
  • Develop and maintain Mail Order fulfilment system solutions
  • Write interfaces / scripts between IT Systems where appropriate
  • Undertake any ad-hoc systems work as required
  • Procure equipment, software and peripherals in accordance with the businesses authorisation policy
  • Provide support for:
    • PC hardware and software
    • Telephone and Mobile Phones
    • Server and Networking (LAN/WAN)
    • Internet, Intranet, E-mail and other E-services
    • ERP and operational Systems
    • Software
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and hardware issues
  • Monitor IT Systems to ensure stability
  • Make recommendations that would improve business effectiveness using either new or existing technology
  • Supporting and develop users knowledge where they encounter challenges with IT, Systems and network devices
  • Providing training to fellow employees about network security and the best computer usage practices
  • Maintaining and updating technical documentation as necessary
  • Administering data and network security including system firewalls, anti-virus, group policy, email security and data protection (GDPR)
  • Ensure company-wide backup and virus scanning procedures are applied
  • Creating, analysing, reporting, converting and transferring data through systems using application software
  • General IT administrative duties
  • To undertake any training deemed necessary to meet the Company's and personal performance and development requirements
  • Perform any such duties as required to ensure the smooth running of the business as a whole
  • To undertake any other general duties reasonably requested by the management team
  • Being compliant with policies and procedures and being an exemplar ensuring all Company, production, rules, regulations and safe working practices are followed and adhered to
