IT Procurement Officer - IT Suppliers and Contracts

Top opportunity for an IT procurement officer/IT category manager to work for a large public sector body as they undergo a period of change and modernisation of their systems/processes.
Working in the IT service delivery team you will conduct a thorough review of IT suppliers, contracts, end user devices, mobile phones and implement new best practises and legislation.
Initial 3-month contract with a good scope for extension if successful.

Role/Responsibilities
Looking for an experienced Supply and Contract Officer to join IT Service Delivery Team.
Ensure smooth running delivery and renewal of contracts, monitoring IT Supplier & Contracts progress within given timeframes to collect, collate and analyse supplier contract data, e.g., End User Devices (EUD), CAD, Mobile phones, with responsibility for the renewal of contracts.
Conduct a thorough review of the IT Supply and Contract Team's processes and procedures and identify improvements and make formal recommendations.
Provide full and comprehensive administrative support for each contract, as required and to be responsible for all contract documentation.
Work alongside colleagues in the Central Procurement to establish processes and procedures to ensure do not breach either its own constitutional regulations or UK Procurement and Contract legislation.
Be aware of any changes to the legislation and to implement these changes as necessary.
Help resolve issues between suppliers and service users in a timely and satisfactory manner.
Act on behalf of the IT Supplier & Contracts Manager during any absence, managing staff workload and ensuring delivery.
Experience and Qualifications:
Experience in managing IT Suppliers, E-Tendering processes and Contracts is essential to be successful for that position.
Extensive IT procurement experience
Experience of using electronic systems for e-tendering, such as In-Tend or ProContract.
Experience of using a centralised Finance system for purchasing and managing contracts, such as Aggresso or SAP.
Experience of contract management & knowledge of contract principles.
Personal proven track record in executing complex IT procurement activities.
Broad knowledge of contracts with ability to draft special terms, including dispute procedures.
Knowledge of government and public sector procurement frameworks.
Knowledge of relevant statutory and legal provisions.
Experience of process improvement, analysing existing procedures and designing changes to streamline workflow.
Experience of working in a public sector organisation beneficial.
Knowledge and experience of applying Public Contract Regulations 2015.
Negotiate with suppliers to find best price on components and equipment.
