Role: Mechanical Development Engineer / Diesel Engine Validation Engineer
Salary: £30.10 Per Hour (PAYE) // £38.47 Per Hour (Umbrella)
Location: Hybrid Role - 3 Days A Week On Site At Peterborough
Duration: 12 Month Contract - Highly Likely To Be Extended
Shifts: 37.5 Hours A Week (Flexibility Around Start / Finish Times)
Wanted: Mechanical Development Engineer to join the Component Engineering Department. Each project offers the opportunity to work on the design and development of engines intended to meet the latest emissions legislation, with world-class levels of quality and reliability. You will be part of a small, friendly team working together to deliver programmes that are critical to the long-term success of a respected, global company. Core components includes in-cylinder, block/head, sealing systems, bolted joints, bearings, geartrain, pumps, lubrication & cooling system componentry.
Skills & Experience Needed:
- Knowledge of Diesel engine core systems such as Rotating Systems, Valvetrain, Castings, Lubrication, Breather and Cooling systems.
- Experience of conducting risk assessments through effective FMEA generation on components and systems to identify and address design risks and determine validation needs.
- Be capable of understanding technical issues as they arise and execute root cause analysis through relevant tools, methods, data analysis and testing to resolve the issue.
- Conduct or generate reports to support component and system design reviews.
