Fluid Dynamics experience is the key ingredient to success for this new Mechanical Engineer vacancy based in start-up central, Cambridgeshire.
Working in a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers, this technology will quench your thirst for doing your bit for the planet, as you play an important part in developing products.
The Role:
This energy storage technology is essentially based on chemicals, so your expertise will focus on managing fluids within the cells and improving the overall mechanical design.
Alongside that, you'll play a huge part in leading the validation of the new technology and scaling it up, whilst implementing it into new prototypes.
This will take a creative, solutions focused engineer who can really drill down and find ways of improving the performance of prototypes and then carry out the experiments as you support development.
Your understanding of manufacturing strategy will also come into play, as you consider potential future applications and products for exploration.
What's required?
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3-5 years of experience as an engineer, designing systems to manage fluid flow
- CFD experience would be a huge plus
- Ideally you will be experienced within the energy storage sector
- Hands-on engineering skills with plenty of understanding of chemical processes and systems
- Process development and optimisation experience, particularly relating to pilot line manufacturing
