A global player in the food, industrial chemical and pharmaceutical industries has made the acquisition of a local food technology business in Cambridge and they are now in the hunt for an experienced Project Accountant to come in and overhaul the whole finance function.
Initially on a 6-month contract this could easily continue to be an ongoing role, or even go permanent.

Reporting into the Finance Director of the parent company you will be taking a key role in overhauling the current finance function, setting up processes and getting things ship-shape and ready for this business to develop into the future.
Despite this being a contract role, you'll be an integral part of the team providing support and business partnering for senior management, looking at production and gross margin analysis, streamlining and setting up systems and annual budgeting process, involved in ad-hoc finance projects and looking into sales invoicing and bank reconciliations. You'll work closely with the Finance Director to help develop the financial systems and the preparation of statutory reporting.
You need to come into the role with solid technical skills and ideally an understanding of management reporting within an SME business. Clear communication is essential, and a CIMA, ACCA or ACA qualification would be preferable.
The role will offer you the opportunity to get out from your desk and liaise with numerous colleagues across the whole business, and will require someone willing to roll up their sleeves and get right into the fabric of the business.
