The time has come to appoint an R&D Team Leader, who will be a senior and crucial hire at an important time as products have recently been launched.

The Role:

  • Provide direction and management to a growing team (currently approx. 20) of Postdoc Scientists, Engineers & Technicians
  • Drive process development within the technology, such as cell fabrication, stack optimisation, trials & product development
  • Co-ordinate R&D innovations
  • Continue to expand and develop the team and technical facilities

Who are we looking for?

  • A credible and experienced people manager with demonstrable management expertise spanning across at least two of the following areas:
    • Electrochemical systems
    • Materials science
    • Chemical engineering
    • Electrical engineering
  • PhD Level, preferably also a Chartered Engineer
  • At least 10 years' experience working within applied science or engineering R&D teams
  • At least 5 of those years should be within in an R&D management role, either for an SME or the innovation division of a larger company
  • Experience or understanding of developing electrical energy storage technologies is highly desirable
