The Role:

  • Design, fabricate and test novel 2D material - based device structures, using both in-house and external processing techniques, with semiconductor standards in mind
  • Design, from first principles, semiconductor electronic device technologies
  • Innovate new, novel semiconductor device technologies and approaches to achieve 2D material -based devices
  • Develop processes to rapidly achieve device technology products
  • Work with external partners to deliver device technologies
  • Report clearly and concisely project performance to all levels of the business

About You:

  • PhD in a relevant subject
  • Industrial experience
  • Excellent understanding of semiconductor materials & technologies and device physics
  • Capability to design and develop semiconductor devices from the base material up
  • Experienced with device design modelling and simulation software and design tools
  • Experience of carrying proof of concept technologies through to prototype level
  • Understanding of device manufacturing line processes and tools
  • Experience of using and developing LabView/Python code for instrument control and data acquisition
  • Data analysis/interpretation using Excel/Origin, utilising conclusions to iteratively optimise device designs
  • Confident at presenting, regardless of the audience

Advantageous:

  • Experience working with two-dimensional materials technologies
  • Knowledge of high frequency device design
  • Knowledge of semiconductor processing lines
  • Experience in New Product Introduction
