Company: This company is working to battle air pollution, greenhouse gases, and food waste - by developing a range of zero-emission technologies powered by liquid nitrogen. They apply these technologies in refrigerated transport, built environment and commercial vehicles. The open-plan office has a real collaborative feel to it, with everyone working together to achieve a greener, cleaner world.
The Role: Reporting to the Head Electrical Systems Engineer, you will have responsibility for execution of work packages and tasks within the companies main projects; relating to the design, development, prototyping and testing of electrical distribution systems for their products and technology. This will require a mix of practical and analytical skills and may include working off-site and with customers. Day to day activity will include:- Design electrical harness system; including high and low voltage systems, mule prototypes and circuit boards in ECAD environment- Liaise with the design, development, project management, commercial, prototype and production manufacturing teams, technical partners and suppliers - Support R&D activities and the development of tools and identify process/method gaps for continuous improvement- Investigating & trouble shooting any electrical problems, making modifications in electrical systems where required
What's required: - A solid understanding of whole system/product development cycle is essential- Practical knowledge of ECAD (Electra E8 or Zuken E3) and MCAD (Solidworks)- Sound knowledge of electrical systems delivery requirements, DFMEA, EDS design tool development- Experience of full product life-cycle activities and ability to achieve cost, weight and technical targets within specified timescales- Confident being hands on offering test & build support.
