With your shining academic record and 5+ years' experience working in a similar environment, you'll be a Systems Engineer who can lead a technical team, converse comfortably with clients and understand their requirements, translating them into products.
You will need to have worked on medical devices or another regulated industry and your design experience will be extremely hands-on. Complex systems won't scare you off; in fact, you get excited by them.
It's possible that you've dabbled in real-time control and integration with some very clever electro-mechanical systems, created test plans and documented the results. You might even have some experience of volume manufacturing of electro-mechanical systems. The more skills, the better!
Although already experienced, there will still be plenty of further opportunities to grow and develop within this talented, cross-disciplinary team.
