Role: Service Technician / Welding Technician
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per year

Duration: Permanent Job

Wanted: Technician with practical hands-on experience of welding and using hand / power tools to join my client in Derby. This role has a perfect mix of both workshop manufacturing and visiting clients to both teach, train and provide a great client service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To provide support for service operations in a practical and technical role for the service, repair and maintenance of customer owned equipment; including preparation and testing of my client's equipment for sales, rental and loan.
  • To provide application engineering support for processing of weld samples; including developing and proving the tooling and techniques necessary to meet the requirements of individual enquiries, sales orders and product development.
  • To provide training in the use, maintenance and application of my client's products.

Skills & Experience Needed:

  • Maintain an efficient and organised service area
  • Keep a detailed and accurate daily record of work performed for entry and compilation of service reports, calibration records, repair quotes and sales orders as required.
  • Liaise with customers and colleagues as required to ensure a prompt and timely response to meet the needs of the customer
  • This may include providing repair and parts quotations, quote follow up, expediting purchase orders for the same, providing technical assistance and advice etc.
  • Keep accurate and detailed records of weld procedures and applications completed for sales enquiries, sales orders and 'special' projects.
  • Manufacture of small parts and assemblies for service, application and 'special projects' as required.
