Technical Officer - Cambridge based with flexible working - £35,000 - £40,000

In this diverse role, you will solely be responsible for the mapping and reporting tool that is used by companies, researchers and many more, to access global datasets that support important environmental decisions. Not only ensuring the data is correct and up to date, but also carrying out maintenance and implementation of new features using Ruby on Rails. You will also find yourself troubleshooting and providing technical support to external stakeholders.
I am looking for a passionate developer, who can be a technical bridge and translate technical jargon. Thinking outside the box is a daily characteristic, along with a keen eye for detail and an enthusiasm for new technologies.
Technically, you will need to possess:
- A minimum of 2 years commercial experience with Ruby on Rails development
- Experience in front-end development (HTML, CSS & Javascript)
- Familiarity with React and Vue.js
- Demonstrable experience working with databases (SQL)
- Knowledge of GIS is a bonus
