I have spoken with a number of HR professionals recently whose teams have been through a reduction in numbers to cope financially with the effects of the pandemic - but the workload has remained the same or even increased, as it is HR that support the rest of the business in times of uncertainty and change.

It is very common now for teams to have key members out of the business for the 14-day self-isolation period if they have been in contact with Covid-19 or are suffering with symptoms.

More and more people are having to self-isolate and are unable to work productively from home due to illness, childcare or family responsibilities.
