Our client is a small business with an exciting future.
Following a restructure they are now recruiting for an all-round Accounts Manager to join them to take responsibility for the running of the function reporting directly to the MD.
Your role will be immensely varied and duties will include;
Preparation of monthly management accounts
Producing year-end accounting information for external accountants.
Cashflow reconciliations, preparation and reporting
Managing invoice discounting scheme
Daily bank reconciliations
Responsibility for purchase, sales and nominal ledgers
Month-end close
Stock management and reconciliations
Expenses and credit card management
Quarterly VAT returns
Ad hoc duties as appropriate
The successful candidate will have a broad background in accounts and will have worked for an SME and will be happy to be hands-on. Experience of Sage 50 would be a distinct advantage and strong knowledge of Excel is a pre-requisite.
This really is a plum role for someone who likes working for small businesses and being a key player in the running of a company. In fact, once you have bedded in to this role its scope will grow and there is potential for the successful candidate to take on a General Manager position but this will happen in time and expectations will be managed.
