Events Assistant (6 month FTC)
Cambridge
£25k

You're heading off on holiday with a group of friends and guess who's in charge of finding the best prices, booking flights and accommodation, making sure everyone's got their passports and tickets and getting everyone to the airport on time?

It's you, isn't it?

If we throw in the fact that you're probably the one who booked the hire car, packed the phone charger and remembered the "Spanish for Beginners" book, it's likely you're exactly the type of person we're looking for to join our client, a Cambridge-based, leading software solution provider, as an Events Assistant.

We're on the hunt for an events pro, with physical, virtual and hybrid events experience, who is passionate about delivering world class events. It's imperative that you are an exceptional communicator who is able to effectively build relationships across a global business and is willing to sometimes work to US time zones.

To give you a bit of an insight into the type of responsibilities you'll hold, you will:

  • Organise and execute events (both hosted and/or sponsored by the company), continually look for ways to improve the way they're managed, bringing new ideas at every opportunity
  • Handle internal communications around events, as well as managing external inboxes and responding to enquiries
  • Administer pre-event documentation, adding relevant information to internal databases
  • Liaise with suppliers about collateral, logistics, and contracts
  • Manage your own workload whilst working across multiple projects, effectively prioritising to ensure tight deadlines are met

It sounds busy…because it is! But we know that's no sweat for you, because you've done all this juggling-10-things-at-once stuff before. To hazard a guess (and because it's most certainly what we're hoping for), we'd say that:

  • You're a problem-solver who thinks on their feet
  • You communicate in a clear, concise, and proactive manner whether you're in person, on a video call, or emailing
  • You have excellent attention to detail and you're happy taking initiative
  • You're competent in Outlook, Word, Excel, and OneDrive, with strong general computer skills
  • You're experienced with Salesforce, Marketo, and various virtual event platforms (but it's also ok if you don't have this particular software experience, too!)

If this sounds like the type of plate-spinning challenge that keeps you motivated and on your toes - and you'd like to find out more about the role - please contact Harry Bragg at The ONE Group.
